Breadwinner was founded in 2013 with a simple belief: the people who need financial data shouldn't need a login to the company finance system to get it. Here's how we got here.

    Breadwinner founded in London

    Jo and Stony started Breadwinner with a simple idea: give every employee access to the financial data they need, without a finance system license.

  • 2014

    Xero integration launched

    Our first integration — connecting Xero financial data to Salesforce for the first time.

  • 2015

    QuickBooks Online integration launched

    Expanded to QuickBooks Online, opening up the SMB market. Hit our first 100 customers in April.

  • 2018

    Started building NetSuite integration

    Took on the most complex finance system in our portfolio — a two-year engineering effort to get it right.

  • 2020

    NetSuite integration launched

    Brought enterprise-grade NetSuite data into Salesforce, unlocking our largest and most complex customers.

  • 2021

    Breadwinner Payments launched

    Added payment processing capabilities, letting customers collect payments directly through Salesforce.

  • 2022

    SOC II certified

    Achieved SOC II certification — a milestone in our commitment to enterprise-grade security and data protection.

  • 2023

    First team trip to Playa Del Carmen

    Our fully remote team came together for the first time in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico — the start of an annual tradition.

  • 2024

    Started building for Agentforce

    Began engineering work to bring Breadwinner's financial data into Salesforce's new Agentforce platform.

  • Early 2025

    Agentforce launched

    Became one of the first integrations available on Salesforce Agentforce, giving AI agents access to live financial data.

  • March 2025

    Second team trip to Playa Del Carmen

    The team reunited in Mexico for the second time.

  • Late 2025

    Started building Slack, Teams & MCP

    Began building a new generation of interfaces — bringing financial data to the tools every employee already uses.

  • Early 2026

    Slack and Teams launched

    Finance data became accessible via natural language in Slack and Microsoft Teams — no login, no training, just ask.

  • February 2026

    Third team trip to Playa Del Carmen

    Back in Mexico for the third year — Playa Del Carmen is officially our place.

  • March 2026

    Rebranded as Breadwinner AI

    After 13 years of delivering finance data to the people who need it, we became Breadwinner AI — reflecting where the company is headed.
